The Nights Away Permit scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading nights away events for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so.

Everyone who leads a Nights Away event for young people within Scouts is required to hold a Nights Away Permit for the type of event they are running.

To apply for a Nights Away Permit you will need to log on to scouts.org.uk and apply by going to Programme support > My active permits > Start new permit.

We have created a top tops guidance sheet which will help you get your NAN approval through first time and remind you of the steps you need to take once you have submitted it. Click here for more information on getting your approval right first time.
