Jack Petchey Achievement Awards – Nominate Today!

The Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Awards celebrate young people aged 11–25 who go above and beyond—whether that’s showing resilience, helping others, or making a positive impact in their group. These awards are a brilliant way to recognise Scouts and Explorers and to unlock funding for experiences that benefit everyone.

If we don’t use our nominations, we lose them—so let’s make sure we celebrate the amazing young people and leaders in our District!

Who Can Be Nominated?

  • Scouts and Explorers aged 11–25
There are 8 awards a year for Young People of £300
  • Scout and Explorer Leaders (Aged 21 and over with at least 1 years service).
There are 3 leaders awards a year, with an opportunity to claim up to £1,000 for Scouting.
  • Must be part of a Scout or Explorer Unit within the District

How to nominate

  1. Watch for an invite – the District’s Jack Petchey administrator will send out a nomination request to leaders each term.
  2. Choose a nominee – someone who’s made a difference, shown leadership, or overcome challenges.
  3. Complete the nomination form – our local form will be included in the invite email, so no need to hunt it down.
  4. Include your Citation, this bit of the form is important. The award winner needs to understand what they have achieved. It is what makes them feel proud to be a winner. Guidance on how to write a good citation is available here.
  5. Send in your nomination – details of where to send it will be included in the invite.

Please reply promptly when the invite goes out—nominations are time-sensitive, and unused slots may be lost. Even a short response makes a big difference.

Examples of what the money can be spent on:
